Web Development

I began working with HTML in the 1990s as a hobby, but quickly became intrigued by the potential of the web. Taking it more seriously, I began developing websites on a voluntary basis for community organizations that I was involved in. As well as doing this work because I enjoyed it, it was also a means of acquiring and maintaining the necessary skills that moved my professional career into web design, and to the present day I maintain this practice of volunteering my web development services in parallel to my professional work.

In the past I wrote my own CMS in PHP, but nowadays I prefer to use WordPress and customize that.

I am also a member and Chairman of numerous nonprofit boards, which further hones my communication and management skills.

Older Websites

Various

Working for many organizations and employers has enabled me to take part in the evolution of web development since the 1990s. The older websites illustrated at left were made in the days of table-based layouts and their quaint code is long gone, but they are shown here for the sake of completeness.
